The Ithaca Trans Center is an emerging, grassroots organization working to establish a dedicated physical space for the trans and queer community in Ithaca, NY. While a permanent building is in the works, they host vibrant local events, art galleries at the CAP ArtSpace, and a Book Club at Buffalo Street Books.

QSpace Ithaca is an LGBTQIA+ community "third space" designed for coworking, collaboration, and creativity. Operating out of Room K on the lower level of K-House Karaoke & Arts Hub, it functions as a flexible, multi-use environment dedicated to queer and trans community building, collaboration, and creativity.

IthaQueers is a welcoming community of LGBTQIA+ people from in and around Ithaca. They host queer bar takeovers, outdoor meetups, and other community events. Join their Discord to get connected and stay up to date at ithaqueers.com.

Queer Anarchy Collective is grassroots community organization focused on LGBTQ+ activism, mutual aid, and education. They regularly host public discussions and teach ins on topics like gender roles in activism, history of militant organizing, and exploration of masculinity.

A local chapter of PFLAG serving central New York, providing support, education, and advocacy for LGBTQ+ people, their families, and allies. They host confidential support meetings—both in-person and virtually—typically on the first Sunday of each month.

Mutual Aid Tompkins is a grass-roots, volunteer-run network in Tompkins County, New York, that connects neighbors to share food, resources, and community care. Operating under the philosophy of "solidarity, not charity," the organization builds local resiliency by avoiding centralized gatekeeping and allowing community members to directly support one another.

Food Not Bombs is a loose-knit group of independent collectives that distribute free, usually vegan and vegetarian food. In Ithaca, food is served:

Thursgays is Ithaca's home for weekly Queer events! Typically hosted every Thursday at Lot 10 and some Saturdays at Ithaca 5 & Dime.

Be Gay, Do Crafts! is a monthly queer craft night rooted in creativity, connection, and collective joy. Held every 4th Saturday, 6–9pm, this is an open, welcoming space to slow down, make art, and be in community. $10 entry.

We know not all faith organizations can feel welcoming to LGBTQ+ people, and for some this is an important part of community. These faith organizations have publicly declared themselves to be welcoming/affirming to LGBTQ+ people.
