Lead Volunteers Needed!

Lead Volunteers Needed!

Lead Volunteers Needed!
Apply by May 4th 2025

Lead volunteers will attend some of the Pride Planning meetings Mondays 4-5pm May 12th-June 9th (and one post-festival debrief session), and should be available for all or most of the Pride weekend, June 13th-15th. Lead volunteers will help ensure we have a detailed plan for their area of oversight, with support from the Ithaca Pride Alliance Board, and will be on hand to direct volunteers in their area during Pride.

Volunteer Lead: Check-In & Information
Lead check-in for volunteer shifts by being the main coordinator for shift check-ins and volunteer questions at the information desk. Ensure all volunteers are ready to answer general questions about events, accessibility, and resources related to Pride.

Volunteer Lead:  Load In & Load Out
Help ensure our equipment load in and pack-up goes smoothly by creating and overseeing a plan for volunteers to set up and break down the all-ages dance party and DJ booth on Saturday, and the festival in Dewitt Park on Sunday. (This position could be shared by 2 people, one for each day).

Volunteer Lead:  Entertainment & Performer
Be an enthusiastic and outgoing MC who helps our entertainment and performances stay on track!  Make sure the song list is ready, organize the artists and musical performers for the all-ages dance party on Saturday, and the live stage during Pride in the Park in Dewitt Park on Sunday. You may need to help introduce some performers as they start their sets and should be comfortable being enthusiastic and joyful on the mic!

Volunteer Lead:  Accessibility & Transportation
Help us ensure our plans for event accessibility and safe transportation come to life by creating and implementing the volunteer set-up and day-of plans for accessible spaces, and safe crossing at streets needed to access our events downtown.

Volunteer Lead: Medical & Security
Oversee the medical and security volunteers and ensure they are empowered to respond in the event of a weather or other emergency, and have what they need to successfully create a safe & welcoming event.

Email member@ithacapridealliance.org if interested with a few words about your volunteer experience and background as it relates to your preferred role.  Lead volunteers will be selected no later than May 5th.
